Zoom! Whitening Treatment
At our office, we use the Zoom! Whitening System. Many patients see results of up to eight shades whiter after just one hourlong treatment session. There are no messy strips to use for weeks at a time at home – just one office visit and you get teeth that are whiter than they have been since the days of your youth.
The first step to the Zoom! Whitening Treatment process is a consultation and exam to make sure your teeth are healthy enough and ready for a whitening treatment. Next, the lips and gums are covered to protect them from the whitening treatment, a step that at-home kits don’t utilize (which leaves gums and lips vulnerable to damage).
Once the lips and gums are protected, the Zoom! gel is applied to teeth and begins working to break up years of stains and discoloration. To speed up the process and remove more stains in a shorter period of time, a special Zoom! light is used on the gel. The light and gel work together for 15 minutes while you watch TV, listen to music, read or just sit back and relax. Then, this process is repeated two to three times depending on severity of staining for a total treatment time of 45 minutes to an hour.
